How Listzilla connects to your Etsy shop
Last updated 12 October 2026.
Listzilla works on your shop through Etsy’s official API, with permission you give on Etsy’s own screen. This page lists exactly what that permission covers, why each part is needed, what we keep, and how to take it back.
You approve it on Etsy, not here
When you press Connect your Etsy shop, you go to etsy.com. Etsy shows you Listzilla’s name and the permissions below, and you approve or decline there. We never see your Etsy password. Etsy gives us an access key instead, and we store it encrypted.
What we ask Etsy for, and why
Read your listings
listings_rTo show your listings, measure their tags against live Etsy search, and find the ones that are not being found.
Read your shop
shops_rYour shop's name, sections, shipping profiles, return policy and reviews. Etsy needs a shipping profile and a return policy before it will accept a new draft listing.
Read your sales
transactions_rTo count how many times each listing has sold, so the shop audit can tell a listing nobody finds from one people find but do not buy. Etsy sends buyer names and addresses with this data. We do not keep them. We keep one number per listing.
Create and edit listings
listings_wTo save the listings we write as drafts in your shop, upload their images, publish a draft at the time you scheduled, and save a change you approve on an existing listing.
Remove listing images
listings_dTo take a photo off one of your listings when you remove it on that listing's page in Listzilla and press Save to Etsy. Listzilla never deletes a listing.
We do not ask for your email address, your profile, your payment details or permission to change your shop’s settings.
What changes in your shop, and when
- New listings arrive as drafts. Shoppers cannot see a draft.
- A draft goes live only when you say so: when you publish it, or at the day and hour you scheduled.
- A listing that is already live changes only when you press save on that listing in Listzilla, one listing at a time.
- Listings are never deleted. A photo comes off a listing only as part of a photo change you approved.
What we keep
- Photos you upload, and the images made from them, are deleted after 30 days. A job runs every night and removes them. Download anything you want to keep.
- Your listing and shop details, for as long as your account is open, so we can show you your shop and its audit.
- Competitors’ listings that you look up are read and measured, and their text is not kept.
- Your photos are not used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else’s. If that ever changes, we will ask you first.
The full detail, including every company that processes your data, is in our Privacy Policy.
How to take access back
There are two places, and they do different things:
- On Etsy: open etsy.com/your/apps and remove Listzilla. This ends the permission itself, and our access stops at once.
- In Listzilla: Settings → Workspace → Shops → Disconnect deletes our copy of the access key. The permission on your Etsy account stays until you remove it on Etsy as well.
Deleting your Listzilla account removes your data with it. The control is under Settings → Account.
